Each project that we undertake is unique with its own individual requirements, ambitions and constraints - and so we look to tailor our approach and services to the requirements of each individual project and client.
Whether a client is looking for a full turnkey service from initial conception to project completion or just looking to assess the feasibility of extending a property we can assist.
As a framework we use the RIBA plan of work for all of our projects which breaks projects down into a series of stages;
0. Strategic Definition
1. Preparation & Brief
2. Concept Design
3. Spatial Co-ordination
4. Technical Design
5. Manufacturing & Construction
6. Handover
An overview of the services we typically offer are listed below:

Backhouse Jones Architects produce carefully crafted design solutions which combine our design expertise with the requirements of our clients to produce considered pieces of crafted architecture.

Backhouse Jones Architects has a superb track record for achieving planning permissions across a variety of sites - even when sites are limited or there are a number of constraints.

We consistently work on listed buildings, within the curtilage of listed buildings and within conservation areas where we harness our knowledge of historic buildings to secure the necessary permissions.

When the opportunity arises our architects look to take the design of our projects through to detailed interior proposals from designs for intricate bathrooms through to bespoke joinery pieces.

Backhouse Jones Architects submits applications to building control to confirm adherence to the requirements of the building regulations - this is typically done as a 'full plans' application.

We offer services to be appointed as the principal designer as required by both Construction Design & Management (CDM) 2015 Regulations and by the Building Safety Act 2022.

Backhouse Jones Architects produce quality technical design information for tendering and construction purposes. We also typically manage any tender process to ensure all items are covered before works start.

We provide contract administration and 'on site' architectural services for our live projects, where we formally manage the construction contract between our clients and the main contractor.

We are advocates of using a variety of media to convey our ideas. Often we look to use CGI images alongside architectural drawings to assist us in explaining our design concepts to clients.
